Author Insights: Why I Wrote “Built It”
A note from the author of Mommy, We Have Met the Bridge Builder
“Built It” was born from a simple question: How can children actually feel the BRIDDGE steps in their bodies, not just read them on a page? I wanted a song that kids could move to, chant with, and remember when life feels hard. My hope is that families, teachers, and school leaders use this anthem in classrooms, assemblies, and living rooms to practice believing, responding, inventing, and choosing greatness—one brave, steady step at a time.

Built It: A Bridge Builder Anthem
A high‑energy song that turns the B.R.I.D.D.G.E. steps into movement, rhythm, and fun.
“Built It” helps kids remember each B.R.I.D.D.G.E. step—Believe, Respond, Invent, Determination, Discipline, Greatness, and Empower—through a catchy beat and simple motions. It’s designed for classrooms, school assemblies, and family time, giving children a fun way to practice confidence, perseverance, and kindness… one building block at a time.
The Imaginary School Band
What if stories didn’t just live on pages… What if they could be sung?
The Imaginary School Band is a creative, mentorship-centered youth music ensemble open to students in grades K–12 who sing or play any instrument. Designed as an inclusive and community-based initiative, the program brings together young musicians from different schools to collaborate, grow, and perform music inspired by storytelling and imagination.
